Stevenson MS is proud to announce that we will have a New Magnet option available to families beginning 2017-2018 school year.  Applications for this program will begin in November 2016!
Stevenson Leadership and Technology Magnet program will open for students in grades 6-8.
  • Stevenson's Leadership and Technology Magnet (LTM) students will receive a unique learning opportunity, gaining skills in both leadership skills and incorporated technology skills.
  • Students will receive their core instruction (Math, English, Science, Social Studies) with an emphasis on leadership and technology skills through various projects and class assignments and discussions.
  • Students will culminate from Stevenson's LTM with advanced leadership abilities and exposure to unique technology integrated skills to help them continue their success in high school and beyond.
  • Please contact Stevenson's magnet coordinator for more information.
Stevenson's Gifted/High Ability Magnet program will continue as an option for our GATE and high achieving students.
Magnet Program
A voluntary integration opportunity by means of application is available to all student residents of LAUSD in all geographic areas where the instructional specialty and the learning activities differ. Magnet selection is made by the Office of Student Integration Services through a computer priority point system. Transportation may be provided if the travel distance is more than a two-mile radius.

Parents may obtain the Choices brochure containing instructions, the application, and the list of participating schools each December at the local neighborhood schools and Los Angeles County Public Libraries. The brochure may be picked up in person during the application period (mid-November/January) at the Office of Student Integration Services, (213) 241-4177.

Application Process
The school of choice is processed for selection. Parents are notified by mail by the Office of Student Integration Services. Apply within the time frame and consult with the teaching staff to make sure the student meets the qualifying criteria in order to avoid removal of the application.

For more information or enrollment, please contact the Magnet Coordinator through the Main Office.
