Becky Alber has worked as a UCLA Center X Professional Learning Partner since 2005. Prior to this, she taught high school English and journalism in Long Beach public schools. She began supporting teachers and students at Stevenson Middle School in conjunction with the Partnership for L.A. Schools in January 2009.

Working part-time, she spends most of her days at Stevenson co-planning and teaching with instructors, cognitive coaching, collaborating with the leadership team (comprised of teachers) in developing relevant, school-wide professional development, and modeling lessons/strategies.

Her other educational work consists of teaching online CLAD courses for Stanford University and as a consulting editor for Edutopia magazine.
